I don't understand your use of the term framing in UniversalLife and elsewhere. Sometimes I think I understand it but mostly I don't. Can you explain? -- RK
Does the adjunct FrameProblem help?
Mostly, thanks. I still think 'paradigm' or 'paradigm shift' would be clearer. And this would be a case where 'paradigm' is appropriate. (Imagine that, someone who complains because you use the word paradigm too seldom?)
I like "Frame" for the visual analogy.
I remember an episode of the 60's GerryAnderson? show "UFO" in which Straker's men finally managed to attach a camera to a flying saucer to see where it went. But the pictures came back with no scale numbers. Straker angrily declared them "Useless! You can't tell if that's a city or a micrograph of a dandelion seed!". I guess focal length wasn't in Straker's frame ... and I also guess Anderson actually used a micrograph of a dandelion seed ...
Pete see Wikipedia:Governance. Now you owe me som good interpretation of research material on practical ChangeManagement for better Governance, perhaps in the GovernanceVsManagement page. After you fix up TwinPages, of course :) -- dl
It shouldn't take even one page to say "exercise a bit, don't overeat, and reduce intake of saturated fats, such as butter and margarine", so yes, regular avocado (which contains monounsaturated fat, not cholesterol) as part of your planned diet is good.
I've read enough to believe that all diets are bunk. I don't do LowCarb any more mainly because it bores me. I just avoid red meat and low G.I. foods, get as much exercise as I enjoy, drink rainwater instead of tapwater/bottled water, and eat whatever the hell I like. I have no idea what my cholesterol is and don't want to know.
Rainwater??!! That falls from the sky!! Do you have any idea what's up there? All kinds of junk. Better to get your own spring (well away from industrialization. And volcanic vents etc. ...).
My rainwater is well away from industrialization, volcanic vents, etc. I live in a part of the world that still has amphibians. And I don't just mean Cane Toads ... OK show proof using some pictures you have taken.
One of a very great many.
Have you any idea what is in a spring? Springs are inhabited with fish, who defecate and urinate in the water on a regular basis. There are microbes unobservable to the naked eye which live in springs too. And let's not forget the metals and dirt that accumulates from running over, well, rocks. Rain water is actually, on average, cleaner than spring water.
And for those of you who do not receive the benefit of clean rain water, I'd like to quote this passage from the Bible: And God said, "Let there be Brita!" And there was Brita. He saw that it was good. Water was clean and tasteless. But, there was a problem: after two months of regular use, you need to replace the filter. And God saw that this was a problem. And He said, "Let there be filter replacements that are affordable!" And there was. And He saw that it was good." --SamuelFalvo

Especially interesting is what happens to England if the Gulf Stream shuts down. I didn't know it was that bad.
If you want to write that parenting book, I'm game. Though you'd be stuck with the tedious task of editing out my anger. The whole topic just hits too close to home and I am quite incapable of being dispassionate about it. -- RK
You're entirely correct Mark. I don't think acyclicity is impossible - just don't have cycles to spare for hacking zwiki at present. But please find refsoc back at http://refsoc.greencheese.us . --Pete.
Don't know if you noticed http://c2.com/cgi/wiki?CampaignsWikia, but it seems like a ReformSociety molded into a wikipedia form.
I think I might get involved with it and see how where it goes.
Given that getting refsoc up online again is somewhere down your priority list (and no worries about it being there either), would you mind emailing me a zip of the content? I hope you don't mind me plagiarizing it to avoid reinventing the wheel.
(If there's a better transmission method, let me know.)
Thanks -- MarkTilley
No worries at all Mark - my great pleasure to hand the thing over to someone who can do something constructive with it. You're right about my priority list - a loathesome thing with razor fangs deep in my guts and a spiked tail beating me bloody all over. I'm almost at the stage where I'd do the same thing with greencheese ... HaHaOnlySerious. I'll zip up RS for you tonight. Email should do - it'll be a .zexp file . --Pete
