Getting Started

Here are some tips for new users of this site.

Behavior

If everyone follows the SimpleRules, we'll be hunky-dory.

Reading

You may notice some little symbols scattered around. You can find out about these on SiteConventions.

Editing

This site runs UseModWiki, and operates with the standard UseMod:TextFormattingRules which can be used to style your text. Here's a brief summary of some of the more important editing features. Note: If you want to test these out, please use the AdjunctSandBox! Thank you.

Linking to other sites: just type the web address. E.g., http://grault.net/adjunct/ becomes http://grault.net/adjunct/

We have a number of shortcuts set up to refer to pages on other wikis. E.g., Wiki:WelcomeVisitors. See InterMap for more details.

Using images: just type the web address. E.g., http://grault.net/adjunct/adjunct.png becomes

At the bottom of the page when editing you'll see a box labelled "Summary". Type a brief description of the way you changed the page. If you made an unimportant change, such as fixing a spelling mistake, enable the "This change is a minor edit" checkbox below it. That will cause your change to be hidden in the default RecentChanges view. See RecentChangesOptions for more on this.

Migrating Pages From C2

Note that <tab><space>:<tab> for block indents does not migrate seamlessly. You'll need to change it to :<space> to prevent it from becoming monospaced.

Older versions of pages are kept around for a while. Read KeptPages for more details.
