Good Cholesterol

A toon for those who take "EvilSpirits?" too seriously:

If you go to your village shaman, she or he will dance around and speak strange spells and incantations, and then diagnose you with "EvilSpirits?".

Fortunately, in this day and age we can use Sky-ant-terrific Speriments to correctly rate these evil spirits, and assign numbers to them. Sometimes low numbers are bad and sometimes they are good.

In the case of the "cholly sterol" evil spirit, a high number is bad. You may defeat this evil spirit by two means

• -> don't eat land animals or their products <-

• -> exercise (including typing on lots of Wikis and blogs;) <-

• -> eat things that absorb evil spirits, like oatmeal <-

• -> eat oily things like fish, hempseeds, flaxseeds, olives, chocolate*, etc. <-

• Yes, but that's dark chocolate (like 60-70% cocoa - mmmm), milk being an animal product somewhat negates the benefit of milk chocolate. Oils from plants and fish contain the "GoodCholesterol" that dilutes the bad kind, and lubricates blood vessels.
• Oils from plants also contain compounds that produce "bad" cholesterol. A diet based on palm kernel oil, while yummy, isn't very healthy.

And, as usual, another way to make evil spirits go away is ignore them and not donate to them the negative energy of your beliefs.

However, your village shaman might be in bed with your town's snake oil merchants. They might give you an unclear list of things to eat because they want you to _fail_, and then they can sell you their Lipitor. Always remember these people want to sell maintainance, not a cure or (gods forbid!) a prevention.

Which is why Monsanto also sells cancer drugs as well as its usual list of carcinogens. With one hand it giveth and with the other it taketh away. The beautiful harmony of nature, so beautiful it makes one weep...
