Financial assistance to local businesses
Moira Shire Council launched Moira Biz Aid, a fundraising opportunity to help businesses that have been financially affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mayor Libro Mustica said the funding enabled businesses to access professional support services and encouraged them to apply, in order to improve the position of their business.
“Feedback from our business community provided insight into the effects of COVID-19 on most industries in our county, with some businesses losing between 30% and 90% of their revenue for periods of time,” Cr Mustica said.
“Our economic development service offers businesses the opportunity to receive up to $ 1,000 in professional services through a series of one-on-one sessions.
“Moira Biz Aid will provide financial support to businesses wishing to access professional support for tasks such as bookkeeping, accounting, software training, profit and loss statements, business planning, and tax and BAS requirements. , among others.
“While businesses have adapted during this difficult time, the board wants to help them bounce back faster.”
Applications are now open for funding from Moira Biz Aid and close on Friday May 7th.
