JV Bank offers local scholarship to students | News, Sports, Jobs
MIFFINTOWN – Juniata Valley Bank is offering scholarship for high school student Juniata and high school student East Juniata.
Cindy Williams of Juniata Valley Bank presented the criteria for the Richard J. and Lela A. Nestler College scholarship at the weekly Juniata County Commissioners meeting on Tuesday.
She said the candidate with the highest SAT score will receive the scholarship, which will pay for the student’s first semester of college.
Applications are available at the Juniata Valley Bank and Juniata and East Juniata High School Guidance Offices and on the county website. Students must apply by May 1st.
Williams said nearly $ 66,000 in college scholarships was donated by the Juniata Valley Bank.
The board also heard a presentation from Paul Greggo of Juniata Valley Bank regarding investments in county retirement funds.
The board also took the following steps:
¯ Approved the use of the County Records Improvement Fund to purchase a time stamping machine at a total cost of $ 1,062.12 for the Prothonotary / Registry Clerk, as requested by Lori Ferry, Prothonotary;
¯ Approved tax exemptions for the Township of Greenwood.
